Google SSO works in Kadence out of the box. Anyone whose Kadence account email matches their Google account can sign in with Google straight away. Your IT team doesn't need to configure anything.

Google SSO is built into every Kadence account. That's why it shows as Connected in Settings → Integrations, even if you've never set it up. Learn more about what Connected means.

Prerequisites

  • The user must already have a Kadence account, either invited manually or added through Directory Sync

  • The email on their Kadence account must match the Google account they sign in with

Sign in with Google

  1. Click the Google logo under the login form

Make SSO the only way to sign in

By default, users can still sign in with an email and password. To switch off password sign-in, turn on Require SSO for all sign-ins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Google show as Connected when we haven't set anything up?

Google and Microsoft Entra ID SSO are built into every Kadence account, so they always show as Connected. It doesn't mean anything has been linked to your Google Workspace. See Why does Google or Microsoft Entra ID show as Connected?

Can we disconnect or turn off Google SSO?

No. Google SSO is built in and can't be disconnected. It doesn't stop you from adding another provider, such as Okta.

We use Okta (or another provider). Can we block Google sign-in?

[TO CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLISHING] Not currently. Google sign-in stays available alongside your company's SSO provider.

A user can't sign in with Google. What should I check?

Check that the email on their Kadence account matches the Google account they're using. If it's different (for example, after a name or domain change), update the email on their Kadence user record and ask them to try again.

Do we need Directory Sync to use Google SSO?

No, but we recommend it. Directory Sync keeps your users up to date automatically, so new starters can sign in with Google from day one.
