Sign in to Kadence with a Passkey

How to set up, use and remove a passkey for your Kadence account.

Written by Liza

Passkeys let you sign in to Kadence with a fingerprint, face scan or device unlock instead of typing a password - once your organization has switched the feature on.

Before you start

  • Your Global Admin needs to turn passkey sign-in on before you can set one up. If the steps below don't work yet, check with them.

  • The Sign in with Passkey button appears on the Kadence login screen even before your organization turns the feature on - selecting it early just tells you it isn't available yet, and you can carry on signing in with your password or SSO as usual.

Create a passkey

Once your organization has switched passkey sign-in on, setting one up takes moments - and you only need to do it once per device.

  1. Sign in to Kadence as usual.

  2. Go to Profile → Account Security → Passkeys.

  3. Select Add passkey and follow the prompt from your device or password manager.

Add a passkey

Your device confirms it's you - usually with a fingerprint, face scan or PIN, or by unlocking your password manager. Kadence never sees or stores that check, and the passkey itself stays on your device or in your password manager.

Sign in with your passkey

On the login screen, select Sign in with Passkey. There's no email or password to type - just confirm it's you on your device and you're in.

Remove a passkey

Go to Profile → Account Security → Passkeys and remove any passkey you no longer need from the same screen.

Remove passkey

Good to know

  • Adding a passkey doesn't change anything else. Your password and SSO sign-in keep working exactly as before - a passkey is an extra option, not a replacement.

  • You can add a passkey on more than one device, and sign in with whichever is closest to hand.

FAQs

Why do I see a "Sign in with Passkey" button if my organization hasn't turned it on?

The login screen is the same for every Kadence organization, so the button always appears. Selecting it before your organization enables the feature just lets you know it isn't available yet.

Does adding a passkey stop me signing in with my password or company SSO?

No. A passkey is an extra way in - your existing sign-in method keeps working.

Who can turn passkey sign-in on for my organization?

A Global Admin. If passkey sign-in isn't working for you yet, ask your organization's Global Admin to turn it on.
