Kadence supports two parking models—Basic Parking and Advanced Parking—to suit different workplace needs. This guide explains the differences, when to use each option, and how to enable or disable them.

Differences between Basic and Advanced Parking

Basic parking links parking reservations directly to another booking type—such as a desk, pod, locker, room, or onsite booking—rather than creating a standalone parking reservation.

Advanced parking provides dedicated, bookable parking resources that users can reserve independently from other bookings.

FAQs

What’s the difference between desks and advanced parking?

Advanced parking behaves similarly to desks in that users select a specific resource, but it replaces basic parking which only supports quantity-based reservations.

Can I use basic parking and advanced parking together?

No, basic and advanced parking do not work in tandem. You must choose one.

I was using desks as parking. Can I keep my booking data?

Yes. Export your booking data as a CSV for the period you want to retain, then contact your CSM or [email protected] to convert those desks into parking resources.

Will my starred colleagues be notified if I book parking?

No. Starred colleague notifications only apply to desk and onsite bookings.

Will parking bookings update my Kadence schedule?

Your Kadence schedule is only updated when booking desks, rooms, pods, or onsite. Parking bookings do not appear as primary schedule items.
