SpaceOps is a visual, interactive, AI-powered planning tool designed to help you reimagine and optimize your workplace layout — from reassigning floors and relocating teams to modeling future headcount scenarios.
Accessing SpaceOps
SpaceOps is a paid add-on. If you don't see it in your navigation menu, contact your CX representative or [email protected] to request access or book a demo.
If enabled for your organization, you'll see SpaceOps in the left-hand menu.
SpaceOps is available to:
Global Admins
Building Admins
Team Managers
From the SpaceOps dashboard, you can:
Create new Stack Plans
View existing Stack Plans
Edit or delete Plans
Starting a New Plan
When you open SpaceOps, you'll land on a home screen with a chat box and three guided starting points, based on what you're trying to do:
Restack a building
Consolidate floors
Find space for a team
Pick a card, or just type what you need into the chat — the cards are there to save you from a blank box, not to replace it. Each card shows what it'll ask and what you'll get before you commit, and you can back out at any point without creating anything.
Nothing you do in SpaceOps changes your live building setup. Everything created here is a plan you can review, adjust, or discard.
Restack a Building
Pick the building you want to model.
Note any changes to workpoints per floor or team size.
Kadence AI opens a new plan showing your teams placed as they are today, plus your changes — ready for you to adjust.
If some teams don't have a defined area yet, you'll see how many could be placed automatically, with a prompt to place the rest yourself.
Team sizes come from your company directory, not from how many desks a team currently books — so plans reflect headcount, not day-to-day attendance.
Consolidate Floors
Pick a building and note any workpoint or team-size changes, same as restacking.
If your teams fit on fewer floors: you'll get a new plan with a floor emptied.
If they don't: you'll be told which team doesn't fit and by how much, and handed to a Kadence AI conversation to talk through the options — since choices like splitting a team or accepting less space per person are judgment calls SpaceOps won't make for you.
Find Space for a Team
Pick the team and the building.
You'll land straight in a conversation with Kadence AI, already set up around that team and building.
Unlike the other two starting points, this doesn't create a stack plan — it's a conversation to help you think through the options.
Guided workflows currently support companies using assigned desk seating (one desk per person). If your company uses flexible or hybrid desk booking, this may not be available yet — check with your CX contact.
Every run creates a brand-new plan — nothing is overwritten or auto-deleted, so your plans list will grow as you use SpaceOps.
Adjusting Your Plan
Once a plan opens — from Restack a Building or Consolidate Floors above — you're fully in control.
You'll see a visual layout showing:
Team placements
Floor capacity
Gaps or overflow
Overall utilization
You can:
Drag and drop teams between floors
Edit team size, in-office days, or required workpoints
Split teams across multiple floors
Lock specific teams or floors while re-optimizing others
Close floors to simulate reduced capacity
Use Undo/Redo to test different scenarios
This allows you to explore multiple restack options before making decisions.
Export and Share
Once your plan is finalized, click Export to download a polished PDF version of your stack plan.
This is ideal for:
Leadership presentations
Stakeholder reviews
Real estate planning discussions
Export functionality may not be included in the initial beta release.
