Manage and Send Internal Surveys

Surveys help you gather valuable feedback from your employees so you can make better, data-driven decisions.

Whether you’re evaluating hybrid working policies, measuring the success of events, or justifying office space investments, surveys let you hear directly from the people experiencing your workplace.


Enable or Disable Surveys

Prerequisites

You must be a Global Admin.


Enable or disable surveys

By default, Surveys are enabled for all accounts, however if you would like to disable or re-enable the feature follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to Kadence

  2. Navigate to Settings

  3. Select Company from the top menu

  4. Locate the Surveys setting

  5. Toggle the setting on or off:

    • Enabled: Eligible users can create, send, and respond to surveys

    • Disabled: Surveys are hidden and unavailable to all users

  6. Changes are saved automatically

What happens when surveys are disabled?

  • Users will no longer see the Surveys option in Kadence

  • Existing surveys cannot be sent or responded to


Create a Survey

Prerequisites

You must be at least one of the following roles:

  • Team Manager

  • Event Organiser

  • Coordinator

  • Building Admin

  • Global Admin


Create a new survey

  1. Log in to Kadence

  2. Navigate to Surveys

  3. Click Create Survey

  4. Enter a Survey Title and Description

  5. Add your survey questions and choose the response type for each question

Supported response types

  • Yes / No (Boolean)

  • Multiple-choice (single selection)

  • Multiple-choice (multiple selection)

  • Open text (short or long)

  • Rating scale (numbers, stars, or emotions)

  • Ranking scale

  • Dropdown selection

  • Matrix (single or multiple selection)

  1. Configure question settings:

    • Mark questions as required (optional)

  2. Click Preview to see how the survey will appear to users

  3. Click Translations to make the survey available in multiple languages

  4. Open Settings to:

    • Enable anonymous responses

    • Add survey collaborators (view-only and CSV download access)

    • Limit responses to one per user

  5. Click Publish Survey

Surveys cannot be edited after publishing.


Send a Survey

Prerequisites

You must be at least one of the following roles:

  • Team Manager

  • Event Organiser

  • Coordinator

  • Building Admin

  • Global Admin

Surveys can be sent using:

  • Announcements (email, instant messaging, or push notifications)

  • A direct shareable link

    Share your survey

Send a survey via Announcements

  1. Log in to Kadence

  2. Go to Announcements

  3. Click Create Announcement

  4. Select Attach Survey and choose a published survey

  5. Select the target audience

  6. Optionally enable reminders for users who haven’t responded

  7. Click Send Announcement

Review Survey Responses

Prerequisites

You must be a Global Admin or an authorised collaborator.


View and export responses

  1. Log in to Kadence

  2. Navigate to Surveys

  3. Locate the survey you want to review

  4. View:

    • Audience size

    • Total number of responses

  5. Click the three-dot menu and select Download responses CSV

Frequently Asked Questions

Can surveys be anonymous?

Yes. Anonymous responses can be enabled during survey creation.

Can I edit a survey after publishing?

No. Surveys cannot be edited after publishing to ensure data consistency. If changes are required, create a new survey.

Can surveys be scheduled?

Yes. Surveys can be scheduled using announcements.

Can employees change their responses?

Not currently. A future update may allow edits within a defined time window.

Is there a limit on the number of questions?

No, but shorter surveys generally lead to higher response rates.

Can I send the same survey multiple times?

Yes. Surveys can be sent repeatedly to different audiences. If sending to the same audience again, make sure the response limit setting is disabled.

Who can see and send surveys?

  • Global Admins can view and send all surveys.

  • Building Admins, Team Managers, Coordinators, and Event Organisers can only see and send surveys they created or were added to as collaborators.

Who can be added as a collaborator?

Any user can be added as a collaborator. Collaborators can view the survey and download response CSV files.

Can I send surveys to guests or external users?

No. Surveys can only be sent to users within your Kadence tenant.
