Kadence Wayfinding helps you find people, desks, meeting rooms, and other spaces in your office. Search for what you need from the Offices page, see it highlighted on your floorplan, and book it if it's available.
What you can do with Wayfinding
Search across everything — find people, desks, rooms, private offices, pods, parking spaces, and lockers from one search bar
See real-time availability — instantly check whether a desk is free, a room is booked, or a colleague is on site
Navigate via the floorplan — your search result is highlighted with an animated indicator so you know exactly where to go
Book from search — book any available resource directly from the search results without navigating away
Filter by type — narrow results to just spaces or just people
Switch between buildings — search any building you have access to
Permissions
Wayfinding uses the same permissions as the Offices page. If you can see the floorplan, you can use Wayfinding.
All employees can search for spaces, view results on the floorplan, and book from search results (subject to existing booking permissions). Searching for people is available to all employees, unless a colleague has incognito mode enabled.
How to search for a person, desk, or room
Go to the Offices page in Kadence.
Click the search icon (magnifying glass) on the floorplan.
Start typing — a person's name, desk name, room name, or any other space.
Results appear as you type (minimum 2 characters).
Each result shows its current status: available, booked, checked in, or not on site (for people).

Filter results by type
By default, search returns both Spaces and People. Use the filter chips at the top of the search panel to narrow your results.
Tap a chip to toggle that type on or off.
At least one filter must stay selected.
The Spaces chip covers all space types: desks, rooms, private offices, pods, parking spaces, and lockers.
Navigate to a result on the floorplan
When you select a search result:
If the result is on a different floor, the floorplan switches to that floor automatically.
The target space is highlighted with an animated indicator.
Surrounding spaces are dimmed so the target stands out.
The floorplan zooms in to center on the target.
If the person you searched for is not on site (no bookings in the selected building), the result will show their status but won't highlight anything on the floorplan.
Find a colleague with multiple bookings
If a colleague has more than one booking for the day — for example, a desk in the morning and a meeting room in the afternoon:
Click their name in the search results.
A modal opens showing all their bookings for that day in this building.
Each booking shows the space name, floor, time, and current status.
Select the booking you want to navigate to — the floorplan will highlight that space.
You can go back to their other bookings without running a new search.
If a colleague has just one booking, clicking their name takes you straight to that space on the floorplan.
Book a resource from search
Available desks and rooms near your search target are shown as bookable on the floorplan.
Click any available space to open the booking flow.
Resources you don't have permission to book are clearly marked — visible but not bookable.
After booking, the status updates immediately.
Switch between buildings
Wayfinding searches within one building at a time. The currently selected building is shown at the top of the page — use the building selector to switch. Your search results will reset to the new building, and if you still have a query entered, results update automatically.
Change the date
By default, Wayfinding shows results for today. Use the date picker on the Offices page to search for availability on a different day.
Wayfinding and Live mode
Wayfinding works alongside the Offices Live view, but they can't run at the same time. When you start a search, Live mode is automatically paused — the floorplan switches to showing booking-based status instead of real-time check-in data. You can re-enable Live mode after closing the search panel.
Privacy and incognito
If someone in your organization has enabled incognito mode on their profile, they won't appear in Wayfinding search results. They can still use Wayfinding themselves — they just won't be visible to others.
If you want certain people to be hidden from search, direct them to enable incognito mode in their profile settings.
