The Building Admin role has been updated. Global Admins can now assign Building Admins to specific buildings β so admins only have management access to the buildings they're responsible for, not across your entire organization.
For example, a Building Admin for the London office won't automatically have admin access to your Dubai or New York buildings.
What's Changed?
Previously, Building Admins had access to all buildings in your organization. Now, that access is scoped to specific buildings, giving local teams the right level of control while keeping your global settings protected.
If no Building Admin is assigned to a building, Global Admins retain full control of that building by default.
What Global Admins Can Do
From the Buildings area, Global Admins can:
Assign one or more Building Admins to a specific building using a searchable user dropdown
Remove a Building Admin's access to a specific building
View a list of Building Admins assigned to each building
From a user's profile, Global Admins can:
See which buildings a user currently has Building Admin access to
Grant or remove building-level admin access for specific buildings
It is not possible to downgrade a Global Admin to a Building Admin from these pages. Global Admins already have admin access to all buildings.
If a user is a Building Admin for only one building and that access is removed, they will be automatically downgraded to an employee.
What Building Admins Can Do
Once assigned to one or more buildings, a Building Admin can:
Access the Buildings area in Kadence and see their assigned buildings
Edit and manage settings only for the buildings they're assigned to
Perform all standard Building Admin actions within those buildings
View bookings for their assigned buildings (pre-filtered) while still being able to see data for other buildings
View Insights across all buildings, as they do today
