Slack Integration Setup Guide

The Kadence for Slack integration brings workplace booking, reminders, and updates directly into Slack—helping employees stay informed and take action without leaving their daily workflow.

With this integration enabled, Kadence can notify users about bookings, check-ins, and colleague activity, while providing quick access back to the Kadence web app.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the Slack integration, make sure that:

  • You are a Global Admin in Kadence

  • You have admin access to your Slack workspace, or support from your Slack admin

  • Your organisation understands that the Kadence Slack app is powered by Kadence AI, which may occasionally generate inaccurate responses

What Is Slack?

Slack is a messaging platform that helps teams communicate, collaborate, and access information in one central place—bringing people together to work as a unified team.

How Kadence Works in Slack

Once connected, Kadence integrates seamlessly into Slack to keep users informed and connected to their workplace activity.

Notification Type

What It Does

Booking notifications

Notifies users about new, upcoming, or ad-hoc bookings

Check-in notifications

Reminds users to check in and complete self-certification

Starred colleague notifications

Alerts users when colleagues they’ve starred plan to be onsite

Ad-hoc booking notifications

Helps users meet up with starred colleagues who make last-minute bookings

Cancellation notifications

Notifies users when a starred colleague cancels so plans can be adjusted

Starred colleague check-in notifications

Alerts users when starred colleagues check in to the office


Step 1: Enable the Slack Integration in Kadence

To connect Slack with Kadence:

  1. Log in to Kadence

  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations

  3. Under Slack Integration, click Add to Slack

    Add Kadence to Slack

  4. You’ll be redirected to Slack—log in if prompted

  5. Review and approve the requested permissions for the Kadence app

  6. Once complete, you’ll be returned to Kadence and the Slack integration will show as Configured.

Step 2: Add Kadence to Your Slack Workspace

After enabling the integration, make sure the Kadence app is available in Slack.

  1. Open or download Slack

  2. In Slack, go to the Apps section (lower left-hand corner)

  3. Click Manage Browse Apps

    Browse Slack Apps

  4. Search for Kadence

  5. Select the Kadence app and click Add

That’s it — Kadence is now ready to use in Slack.


FAQs

Do users need to install the app themselves?

Once the integration is enabled, users can add Kadence from Slack’s app directory if it hasn’t been auto-installed.

Can Slack notifications be customised?

Yes, all notification types can be enabled or disabled based on your organisation’s preferences. See our profile guide here.

Does Kadence AI replace the web app?

No, Slack complements Kadence by providing notifications and shortcuts. Full booking management still lives in the Kadence web app.
