Kadence for Slack does not include a full web-embedded version of the Kadence app. Instead, Slack focuses on notifications, visibility into your schedule, and conversational actions using the Kadence bot (Kadence AI).

What Is Kadence for Slack?

Kadence for Slack connects your Kadence account with Slack so you can:

  • View your upcoming weekly schedule

  • Receive booking and check-in notifications

  • Interact with Kadence using the Slack bot (Kadence AI)

  • Quickly jump to the Kadence web app when needed

Kadence for Slack is designed to keep you informed and help you take quick actions, not to fully replace the Kadence web app.

How to Add Kadence to Slack

To add Kadence to Slack:

  1. Open Slack

  2. Click Apps in the left-hand sidebar

  3. Search for Kadence

  4. Select the Kadence app

  5. Click Add to Slack

  6. Approve the requested permissions

Once added, Kadence will appear under Apps in Slack.

If you do not see Kadence in the Slack App Directory, your company may need to enable it. Contact your Kadence admin for help.

How to View Your Upcoming Weekly Schedule

Kadence for Slack can show you your upcoming work schedule directly in Slack.

After Kadence is added, head to Home to see your upcoming bookings, book a new space, or check in.

Your schedule updates automatically as bookings are created, updated, or cancelled.

How to Communicate With the Slack Bot (Kadence AI)

Kadence includes a Slack bot, also called Kadence AI, that lets you interact with Kadence using chat messages.

To start chatting with Kadence:

  1. In Slack, go to Apps

  2. Click Kadence

  3. Open the Messages tab

From here, you can type natural language messages to Kadence AI to do things like:

  • Ask what bookings you have today

  • Check in to your current booking

  • Get reminders about your schedule

  • Create a booking (depending on your company settings)

If you don’t have a booking, Kadence AI may prompt you to create one.

Available actions depend on how your company has configured Kadence. You can ask the Kadence bot directly what its capabilities include if you aren't sure.

How to Manage Notifications for the Kadence Bot

Kadence sends notifications in Slack for things like:

  • Booking reminders

  • Check-in reminders

  • Updates to your bookings

To manage these notifications:

  1. Open Kadence in your web browser

  2. Click your profile picture in the upper right

  3. Select Settings

  4. Review your Instant Messaging (IM) notification preferences

From here, you can enable or disable:

  • Booking notifications

  • Event notifications

  • Starred colleague notifications

  • Announcement notifications

Check our profile guide here for more information.

Slack notifications will only appear if your company has the Slack integration enabled.

What Kadence for Slack Cannot Do

It’s important to note that Kadence for Slack:

  • Does not include a full, interactive Kadence app inside Slack

  • Does not support viewing floorplans or editing bookings directly

  • Will redirect you to the Kadence web app for advanced actions

For full functionality, use Kadence in your web browser or mobile app.

Need Help?

If Kadence messages are not appearing in Slack, or if the bot isn’t responding, contact your Kadence admin to confirm the Slack integration is enabled and notifications are allowed for your account.
