What Are Starred Colleagues?
Starred Colleagues allows users to “star” other colleagues in Kadence. When a user stars someone, they can receive the following information and notifications:
A schedule chart showing their starred colleagues’ bookings for the current and upcoming weeks
Booking notifications when a starred colleague books, cancels, or checks in
A weekly summary email sent every Friday showing which starred colleagues have booked for the following week
Notification preferences for Starred Colleagues can be managed by each user individually in their profile settings. For more details, see the article on enabling or disabling notifications.
Manage Starred Colleague Settings
Global Admins can control how the Starred Colleagues feature behaves across the company.
To edit Starred Colleague settings:
Log in to Kadence
Click Settings in the lower left-hand corner
Click Company from the top menu
Scroll down to the Starred colleagues section
From here, you can configure the following options:
Disable Starred Colleagues entirely across the organization
Require users to send star requests, which must be accepted before someone is starred
Allow users to star anyone without approval
You can also choose whether users are allowed to override these settings at an individual level by enabling or disabling the option that allows personal control.
How These Settings Affect Users
If Starred Colleagues is disabled, users will not be able to star colleagues or receive related notifications
If star requests are required, both users must agree before the connection is created
If unrestricted starring is enabled, users can freely star colleagues without approval
If individual overrides are allowed, users can adjust their own Starred Colleague preferences regardless of the company-wide default
